Aesthetic meets functionality and material innovation with Gaia — a 3D-printed conference table designed at LAMÁQUINA for the Italian Council in Barcelona.

Named in tribute to former Italian Consul Gaia Danese, this sculptural piece was conceptualized by External Reference and brought to life at LAMÁQUINA. The ten components of the table were 3D printed using PURE.TECH, a material technology that actively absorbs CO₂ from the environment, making Gaia both a functional object and a sustainable statement.

The printed elements are finished with resin, while the spherical base elements give the table a floating, lightweight appearance that conveys both elegance and innovation. Integrated power outlets and functional accessories further enhance its usability — making Gaia not just a CO₂-absorbing sculpture, but a fully operational design piece crafted from truly unique materials.
