AÈRIO — Venice Architeture Biennale
Presented at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale within the Italian Pavilion, AÈRIO is an urban prototype exploring new ecological relationships in public space. Conceived as a large-scale breathing surface, the installation acts as a soft, living interface—capturing and transforming air while inviting multispecies cohabitation.
LAMÁQUINA collaborated in the project’s development through advanced 3D printing and digital fabrication, producing complex geometries with sustainable materials provided by PURE.TECH. The structure integrates active surfaces that help reduce atmospheric CO₂, merging environmental performance with experimental urban design.
More than an installation, AÈRIO proposes a vision for health-oriented cities—where architecture responds dynamically to its environment, promotes air quality, and redefines the role of public space in a post-pandemic world.
