Designed by External Reference, the Spanish Pavilion at Expo 2020 (Dubai) brought together visionary design and cutting-edge fabrication. LAMÁQUINA collaborated on the project to develop a modular system of architectural panels and structural components, produced using advanced large-scale 3D printing techniques.
Our work focused on transforming bold geometric concepts into lightweight, functional elements that enabled rapid onsite assembly and a striking architectural presence. Each component was optimized for performance, visual impact, and sustainability—aligning with Expo 2020’s forward-looking themes.
The pavilion’s façade was realized through our digitally fabricated modules, showcasing LAMÁQUINA’s ability to fuse craftsmanship with high-tech production. The result is a seamless integration of design innovation and modular construction.
