RC Deportivo commemorates Donato’s iconic goal from La Liga ’99.
To mark the 25th anniversary of one of the most significant titles in its history, RC Deportivo has unveiled a commemorative installation celebrating the iconic goal that helped secure it. LAMÁQUINA recreated the player’s post-goal movements using archive footage of the moment. A rigged digital model, generated with CLO3D, accurately captured the gesture and posture in fine detail. This model was then refined and engineered for 3D printing. Ten figures were produced in just four days, each assembled from two parts. The upper section was printed in PLA, a biodegradable material made from organic sources. The lower section used PETG, a durable polymer that can be shredded and recycled into pellets for future reuse.
The installation is open to the public at the Parrote esplanade in A Coruña until 10 June 2025.
